site name gone forever?

Hi there, I am looking to delete my site, however it makes me nervous that it says ‘blahblah.wordpress.com will be gone forever’ does that mean that no one can ever use that name again, including me? Or if someone were to create a site, would this site name be up for grabs?

It’s true that your site address will be gone forever and as far as I know, you won’t be able to use it from your account any more. As for other users, they might be able to register the address after two years, subject to certain conditions.
From the support page:
Sites already deleted by their authors two or more years ago may become available again, if they present no username or other technical conflicts.
