Site name reserved
-
Hi, I’m trying to change the name of a site, but when I do, I get a message that says “Sorry, that site is reserved!” The thing is, I think I’m the one who tried to use it in the past — I mean, I think it’s reserved *for me*. So is there a way to get access to it again?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Every wordpress.com account has a site reserved, accountname.wordpress.com. The site https://cosmonautmonkey.wordpress.com/ is reserved for you. That site is still online but hasn’t been used for almost 10 years.

That’s not actually my question, though. I also have another site (which I also haven’t used in many years), and I’d like to change the name of it. I entered the name I’d like to use a few days ago just to see if it was available, which it was. But now that I’ve entered it without actually claiming it, it is “reserved” — by me, even though I can’t actually use it. Is there a way around that?

I would think that address will be reserved for whatever account it is associated with. If you are able to log in to that particular account then you’ll be able to build a site with that address.
