site not being verified
-
Tried to add my site on WordPress to the page where codes from search engines are allowed to be put (then, I guess, WordPress takes care of the rest). I went to the last one ( I think it’s Yantex? )? After adding the code to your ‘form’ I went back to verify it. Their search came back with error code 404 and said it needed to be 200. I don’t know what went wrong or how to make a correction. Asking for help. Also, I had trouble with Google, it could not verify either.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the point of having an account on WordPress if I can’t get it verified for tracking and search engines? I have been trying and trying and trying and trying and trying and……………..I did everything I’m supposed to do or at least all I understand to do and still I’m getting NOWHERE. If I can’t be verified and searched for, what is the point.? I now have a free account with WordPress, I would be even angrier if I was paying for this account and I’ll tell you, WordPress is not winning me over to a paid account as you give NO help! Are you adding the codes to my account? Is that why they can’t be verified? I am not proficient in computers or code so you have to do it for me.

Hi there, site verification on WordPressdotcom is handled by site owners. No one else can do this for you. You can find instructions on how to do this on our Support site: https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Let us know if you have questions after reading and following that Support doc, which covers verifying with Google, Bing, Pinterest and Yandex.

I’m trying to do the same thing. I’ve been trying to verify my Google Webmasters Account and done it over and over. Nothing is happening. It’s not verifying. Is there a certain way to add the code into the bar? I’m just adding it like this :
[google9ec54d7c7f5741a1.html]
Do I need to add the whole line from the example on the how-to page? <meta name=…>
