Site not published
-
Hi, I mapped a domain I own to wordpress and when I try to access the site, it says “Site Not Published.” I also just used HostGator to do a Quick Install for wordpress. What is wrong?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Since I am trying to use HostGator to install my WordPress site, should I have my domain unmapped?

Hi there,
I see that you want to move to the self-hosted version at WordPress.org. Currently we are the support for WordPress.com. To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins.

Therefore, since you want to use Hostgator as you host, you will not need the domain mapping to your WordPress.com site. What I can do is provide you a full refund and remove the domain mapping. Please reply to confirm!

Hello Gracie! Thank you for clearing that up for me. Yes, please remove the domain mapping and provide a refund. I appreciate your assistance!

Thanks for the confirmation! It has been removed and I have provided you a full refund.
Please note that it may take up to a week for the refund to show up in your bank account.
