Site not showing up as http in certain places (admin-wise)

Hi everyone, I hope that you are doing well. I have a question that hopefully I can get solved here, because I haven’t had much luck with the one-on-one support.
Recently, I purchased two custom domains from WordPress. I use the IOS WordPress App to manage my sites when I am away from my computer and noticed that under the site settings tab, my bought domain names show http as their website address. However, my other sites that are under .wordpress.com do show up as https.
When I go to copy and paste my site address with a computer, it also pastes as http. Even for this support ticket in the “Site you need help with” box, they all show up as http.
If someone who has the IOS app and bought a custom domain, could verify that this is also the case for you, I would greatly appreciate it. Also does your website also show up as http when copy and pasting?
I am still pretty new to website making so I don’t know these things completely, the support staff say they can’t find the issue (it seems that everything still redirects to https.
This issue has been frustrating me for a few days now. Your help is. much appreciated. Thank you and have a great rest of your day.

Update: I made a second wordpress account, bought another domain, and upgraded to another plan to make sure it wasn’t just my account. The same behaviour occured so it is apparently expected behaviour. SOLVED

Thanks for sharing your findings here. Normally I would expect the site to show whatever URL it has in its settings, so we’ll share this with the iOS folks. Cheers!

Also — just to confirm, could you share a screenshot of where you’re seeing this? I’m looking in the WordPress and Jetpack apps on iOS and can’t see HTTP or HTTPS on either.

Hi, thank you for reaching out. I have included two screenshots. The first screenshot is of my .wordpress site. .wordpress sites display and copy and paste as https just fine. The second screen shot is of the domain I purchased (via wordpress). This one displays and copy and pastes as http.
Luckily however, it gets redirected as https. I was just concerned, because I’m new to website management, but I made a second wordpress account and everything was the same, so I figured all this was normal.
I am using the IOS app (screenshots) and just my MacBook when I copy and paste. I hope this information is of some use to you. Thank you and have a great day.

Hello there,
Rest assured – SSL’s are applied automatically for free, so not matter what, it would redirect to https.
