site not working

  Hi I found a hack link on my site today. While trying to remove the link I deleted a piece of code which crashed my site. Every time I tried to access my site or login this message was all that came up on the page:

  Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /home/content/83/9641483/html/wp-content/themes/portfolio/functions.php on line 52

  I tried to remove the wordpress files from my FTP and upload new files but now my site just displays a 404 error message.

  please help!
