Site not working

This really rots. Spent lots of time setting up site and it says site not found. There is no support for ‘free.’ Free doesn’t work. Beyond frustrating. Wasted a month on site no one can see. So, it really isn’t free, time is money. My site keeps saying ‘Oops. Site not found’ or some such thing. Have tried hours to get contact tel. or even chat or email and there’s nothing. My site is learningsource1.wordpress.com if I got that right. I didn’t have money to pay $5.99 mo. It says there is a $2.99 mo support somewhere but can’t find where that said it again. Would appreciate help/advice. Is there a contact tel., email or live chat for free sites to Word Press. Am concerned about 3rd parties. How do I upgrade to the $2.99 (if that will give me support)? I may not be able to do it now.

    Hi,

The site https://learningsource1.wordpress.com/ is online, publicly visible, and its links are functioning properly. Are you referring to a different site? I’ve added a “modlook” tag to the sidebar to call for staff attention. Staff will address your questions regarding fees, contact options, etc., or point you in the right direction.

  • Hi there,

The site @musicdoc1 linked to is the only site I see in your account, and that site is working perfectly from what I can see. Can you please explain the problem in more detail? While this is a peer support forum, as you can see staff also replies to threads Volunteers like @musicdoc1 brings to our attention, but we can’t help if we don’t know exactly what is wrong.

If you’re seeing that message on a specific URL on your site, please tell us that URL.

All upgrades on WordPress.com are billed yearly. If you look carefully at the Plans and Pricing pages you’ll see it’s indicated that way. If you click on My Site ->Plans you can see all our available plans and their cost, and you can upgrade directly from there.

    MusicDoc1 (or Forum) –
Do I need the “https://” in front of “learningsource1.wordpress.com”? I wasn’t sure which is really the correct name for my site and whether that explains the error “Oops. Site Not Found” I get when I go to find it online. Would you confirm?
And thank you for the help.

    Kokieh or Happiness Engineer –
As I said above, the site is “learningsource1.wordpress.com”. I am not sure if the correct name/site needs the “https://” in front or the “/” at the end. Please confirm the correct form. Also, that is the site we’re talking about, not “@musicdoc1”.
Also, I looked for the upgrade, where is the “$2.99 option? I cannot afford more and have already paid elsewhere for a domain name.
    Thank you for your response.

  • You don’t need to type in “https://” when you type your URL, though here in the forum it’s required if you want the link to be clickable. But in your browser you can simply type learningsource1.wordpress.com and your browser should automatically take you to the correct site.

That site is working perfectly for me, so if you’re getting an error page there might be something wrong with your browser. Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, and also see if you can open the site in a different browser, or if you use a different connection.

Also, I looked for the upgrade, where is the “$2.99 option? I cannot afford more and have already paid elsewhere for a domain name.

Once again, upgrades on WordPress.com are billed yearly. Currently the cheapest option is the Personal plan which is $5,99 a month, billed yearly meaning you pay $71.88 when you buy it and renew it once a year. There is no option to pay monthly.
