Site ownership/transfer
-
I have inherited shared responsibility of maintaining a WordPress.org site and discovered that neither I nor my partner know anything about how it is hosted nor do we have full admin rights. The person that set it up originally has gone off the grid and we are unable to contact him. How do we get the site transferred to us as new owners so that we can maintain it? (email visible only to moderators and staff)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We provide support only for sites hosted by wordpress.COM and no others. We cannot help you here as that site is not hosted here.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
