Site Page Issue!

I deleted one of the pages on my site yet it is still appearing on the site homepage etc. When you click on this page it says it is no longer available why hasnt it just completely been removed?

You created dropdown menus in your custom menu already. What are you referring to?

Are you asking can I have drop-downs in a Blogroll widget in my sidebar like they have on Blogger (blogspot) blogs the answer is “no”. That’s not possible here.

Ok thanks I have had to do that though as in the past my questions have just been ignored after several hours you see.

Bumping your own thread before 24 hours has expired is not accpetable here. This is a peer support forum. We Volunteers are your fellow bloggers and we do a fine job of providing support. I have been here since there was only one human being on Staff providing support, 1 foumsd, and 1 thread of FAQs. We Volunteers are the reason this forum rocks, has such a quick response time, and has the high page rank it does.

No. You cannot have any floating stuff on the right hand side of the blog. that’s for WordPress.org installs only.

P.S. Also recall that early on when I saw what kind of a site you were building I suggested hiring a web host and setting up a wordpress.org install.

Ok I am sorry I understand that it was just because I need urgent support at that time will I always get a reply to an enquiry though lets say I have a question and it hasnt been answered for a while will it still get answered? And yes but I dont want to spend vast amounts of money as a newbie until I have got fully used to building a website. Sorry about the previous bumping and I understand everything you have said to me. After my site has been run for a full year and I am used to everything then I can hire a web host etc. Thanks for all your help. Sorry for any inconvenience I may have caused you.

I understand that of course thanks for your help I hope I haven’t come across as rude and I will not bump in future I understand you have several other people to deal with too. Anything I ask you from now on shouldnt need responding to urgent urgently now anyway it was just because I was trying to get the site running but all is good now. Once again thank you and sorry about that. You do an excellent job and your help and the other volunteers help has been invaluable to me so thanks :)

Thank you I can be quite impatient sometimes I just wasnt sure whether you was able to see the comments at first thats why I was sending things again anyway now I know for sure. Thank you :) I will just send my enquiry without any bumping in future.

Do you think I am going the right way about it by not having a wordpress.org site just yet and getting used to the whole experience of running and owning a site first before paying further for this service and hosting etc?

Yes, provided you are realistic about the differences http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ and keep them in mind you are doing fine. :)

Good and when you are ready to set up your self hosted install and move your content you will not need to pay for a guided transfer, you will be adept enough to to it yourself.
