Site private temporarily – effect search engine rankings?

  I was just curious that if I make my blog/site private temporarily (for several reasons) would if effect my Search Engine rankings?

  Also, can I make the entire blog password protected so that only certain people can see it? (I know you can make individual posts & pages password protected.)

  I may want to make it available to a few clients until I finish getting it more presentable. (I’m using it as my writing portfolio.)

  Hi Jenni,
  You blog is unranked in other words it has yet to earn a pagerank. You can make a different visibility choice.

  Would I bother doing this? No.
