Site recovery
-
Hi WP team, I had a site hosted on WP and my personal domain name was pointing at it. I was mainly using the site to show case my work. I haven’t been using it for a while as I was off work to take care of my family. Recently I discover that the site has been deleted (I couldn’t find anything in my account page after logging on) I was wondering if there is any way to recover the site content. I would like to continue if you can recover the content as it took me a lot of effort to set it up initially. Can you please let me know what the possibilities are? Thank you.

I do not see the URL of the site in question and unless or until you post it this thread will remain
<em>dead in the water.Be aware that account recovery for WordPress.COM sites will not work for WordPress.ORG sites as our WordPress.COM apply only to sites on our servers. Also be aware that there is not WordPress.COM support for WordPress.ORG sites.
What is the domain URL in question?
Please type the actual URL of the site you are referring to into http://whoishostingthis.com to determine who hosts the site so you know where to post for support.
This is wordpress.COM support. We do not provide support for local installs of wordpress.ORG software, or for wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
wordpress.org support
The wordpress.ORG support forum is at http://wordpress.org/support. The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/
WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page
See also https://apps.wordpress.org/support/ for app support.Jetpack support
Some Jetpack solutions are here http://jetpack.com/support/
Others are in the Jetpack support forum at WordPress.org
http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/jetpack
However, if help cannot be found at either one then they can file a Jetpack support ticket here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/?jetpack=needs-service -
Hi
I hope someone can help you with this. I added the tag ‘Modlook’.
For future reference, I just want to say there are several backup plugins available to backup your blog. But, in order to do that, you need to get it back first.
I just read something about suspended blogs. Could that apply to your situation? Or maybe something is off within the settings of the host of your personal domain. I really don’t know, just try to think with you and offer some useful information.
Good luck.

Additional information:
There is no way to recover content of any wordpress.COM deleted site aside from using Google cache docs or using The Internet Archives Wayback machine. https://archive.org/web/

I need to correct/add something:
For future reference, I just want to say there are several backup plugins available to backup your blog.
This only goes for business plans. Before I came to this forum a few hours ago, I was under the impression my locally hosted WP blog has the same options (like installing plugins) as free WP hosted .com blogs. I’am learning more and more there are some important differences I need to consider, like the use of plugins (discovered that one just moments ago, hence this correction).

The salient point here is that no one can provide accurate support unless or until hi070917 provides the actual URL of the exact site referred to.
With respect I request that you please do not tailgate my responses. I have answered support questions here for over 11 years. I predate all Support Staff except one person as well as predating the support docs.
I am requesting this of you because I do not want hi070917 to become confused and to fail to provide the URL so hosting can be confirmed and this issue can be resolved.

@timethief Thanks for the info. The doamin is http://www.rochelle.li I just checked the DNS records, it’s pointing to ns1.wordpress.com ns2.wordpress.com ns3.wordpress.com. I assume it’s been deleted :-(
-
Do you wish to renew this domain http://www.rochelle.li/?
Or do you want only to recover the content?Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.
I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Hi @timethief
If I where able to edit my messages, I wouldn’t need to submit a new comment to make such a edit to set the information I initially provided correct. With respect I request you consider this too.

I am really sorry about this. I was using the wrong email to log in. Now I found everything. I just need to link the content to that domain again. I haven’t used the site for a couple of years now, it should all come back to me. Thanks again for your support. I really appreciate it!!!

@kimdebruijn
More to the point is the fact that what you posted after I posted was not necessary and could cause confusion. Editing it would not have made any difference to that at all. -
