site redirect edit page not working

  • Unknown's avatar

I’m trying to redirect my frameworksyoga.com to another subdomain on rgyoga.com.

On the site redirect page, I click “edit”, click on the subdomain I wish to change. The only thing that comes up is the stupid wordpress.com pre-load animation page.

It’s been happening for hours, and it’s awful. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi!

I found that you blog rgyoga.com is hosted on godaddy.com, so the “redirect screen” that you are talking about, is that on your WordPress.com dashboard? Or on the godaddy.com dashboard?

Also, in case you haven’t looked yet, take a look at the steps listed in this article: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/

    Let us know!

    Badger,

    Thanks for the response!

I’m trying to have “frameworksyoga.com” mapped to a subdomain on “rgyoga.com”. So I need to do it through WordPress, which I have done.

My issue is, I’ve already paid for and completed the mapping, and the original mapping works fine. But I am unable to change the subdomain on the “domains” tab. WordPress simply doesn’t load the page.

I get the WordPress pre-load page and nothing else. It’s frustrating paying for a service that WordPress doesn’t allow me to access.

I wanted to see if anybody else was having this issue, but it’s not the most common thing to do. I hope they resolve it.

UPDATE: My vocab is off: I’m not trying to map a subdomain, it’s another url. I’m trying to map “frameworksyoga.com” to a specific url on “rgyoga.com”. Sorry for the confusion.

FINAL UPDATE: I got it to quote-unquote work by cancelling and refunding my site redirect payment, then buying another site redirect.

Until WordPress fixes this, I’ll just continue to do this every month, since they have a 30-day refund policy. It’s basically loaning them $13 to change the URL. Maybe one day they’ll fix it.
