site redirect is not working
-
The site redirect has been purchased from WP. The wordpress site is espainting.wordpress.com and should be redirected to espainting.ca
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you sure you require a site redirect and not domain mapping?
Are you leaving WordPress.com? Would you like to redirect yourblogname.wordpress.com (as well as all of your permalinks) to your new domain name? Have you recently changed your blog address and need to redirect traffic to the new name? That’s what the Site Redirect upgrade does > http://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/
This is what domain mapping does:
On WordPress.com, you can use a custom domain for your blog, such as example.com, instead of the default address you get when you sign up, like example.wordpress.com. This is called Domain Mapping, and it’s a paid upgrade: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/

Or does this help?
The nameservers control where traffic for the domain goes using DNS. If you are moving from WordPress.com to a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, you can enter the nameservers provided by your web hosting company to switch your domain to their hosting service. … http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers
The bottom line is we need you to describe in detail what you are trying to accomplish so we can help you.

Thank you for your response. I guess it is domain mapping that I have the paid upgrade for. I will read about domain mapping and see if I can get it to work.

Hi,
I have just cancelled the upgrade for site redirecting and will now purchase the domain mapping upgrade. Will I still need staff to create a zone record for espainting.ca?
Thank you.

Yes and I have flagged this thread for Staff attention for you.

Aha … I think Staff have a helping hand. It’s working already for me too on the west coast (gulf islands) but do note it can fluctuate back and forth until it fully propagates throughout the internet and everything settles down. :) Also note that seeing the .wordpress.com subdomain URls on the Admin side of your blog is normal behavior.
