Site redirect issues
-
I recently transferred my site daileywoodworks.com to bluehost. My wordpress.com blog has been reset to default (robertdailey.wordpress.com) I was trying to set up the site redirect but keep getting an error message when I try to purchase it.
Under the “My Domains” Tab “Daileywoodworks.com” is still showing up but has a DNS error attached to it. I transferred the registration over to bluehost when I transferred my site. Help understanding this issue?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Robert,
When you transferred your domain registration to Bluehost, your domain upgrade here at WordPress.com was switched to a domain mapping upgrade. That keeps the link between your WordPress.com blog and your domain, even though the domain is being used elsewhere.
If you switch your domain daileywoodworks.com to be the primary domain on your blog, visitors will be automatically directed to your new Bluehost site (no additional upgrade necessary).
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Thanks for the clarification! Got it set up now and it’s redirecting correctly.
Does this also redirect my email subscribers and WordPress Reader followers?

Hi Robert,
Your email subscribers and WordPress.com followers aren’t moved automatically, but I can move them over to your new site if you’d like!
When I do that, your email followers will continue to receive email updates, and your WordPress.com followers will continue to see your new posts in the Reader. If your WordPress.com followers would like to receive email updates, as well, they can subscribe via email on your new site.
Some people like to publish an announcement on their old site to let their followers know about that change, before moving them over to the new site. When you’re ready for them to be moved over, just let me know and I can take care of that for you. :)

Yes, go ahead and move everyone over! I’ve already mentioned the move in some previous posts so I’m good there. You Rock!

Hi Robert, I see that Carolyn helped you via email with moving these subscribers over. :) Just let us know if we can do anything more to help!
