Site Redirect Not Working For .io Domains

    Recently, I began the process of transitioning my wordpress.com blog onto a self-hosted site running WordPress (e.g. WordPress.org).

    After getting things initially set up (ensuring proper permalink structure, etc.), I looked into redirecting the existing traffic from the site to the new self-hosted one running on an .io domain and was met with the following error using the “Site Redirect” tool from the Store area :

    Your blog cannot be redirected to that URL. Please make sure the URL is valid.

    I wasn’t sure if this was an error or if this isn’t supported (as that would be a real bummer…). Is there any way that I can do this?

    Any additional ideas would be more than welcome.

    Hi Rion,

    I’m sorry for the trouble you had with that site redirect! I just checked your site and I see that you now have a working redirect to send visitors to your site at rion.io.

    It looks like you’re all set with this now, but please let me know if I can do anything more to help. :)
