Site redirect timing?
-
Hello, I just ordered the site redirect to map my blog http://www.hautemealz.wordpress.com to mt new self-hosted wordpress.org page: http://www.hautemealz.com.
As soon as I made payment, all of the links to my previous blog and it’s posts stopped working. Was there an error, or is this a typical issue when initiating this service? If so, how long until the re-directs start working?
Thanks,
Perry

Hi there,
Links from individual posts on your old site will redirect properly if you imported over all the content from your WordPress.com site and kept the same dates and slugs on all the posts.
It looks like you may have changed the publication dates on some of your posts, so they don’t match up.
For example, this post was published on December 17 on your WordPress.com site:
http://hautemealz.wordpress.com/2012/12/17/amuse-bouche-suggestions-recipes/
On the new site, it has a publication date of December 19, so it has this URL:
http://hautemealz.com/2012/12/19/amuse-bouche-suggestions-recipes/
The redirect will not work correctly in the above case because the dates are different.
This post has not changed publication date, so the redirect works fine:
http://hautemealz.wordpress.com/2012/12/07/my-why/
If you tweak the publication dates of any posts where you have this issue to be sure they match the WordPress.com site, the redirects should start working again.
Just let me know if you need further help.
