Site redirection
-
I’ve already exported my posts and now need to redirect my followers from (www.blogitwithwinnie.wordpress.com) to my new site (www.earnwithwinnie.com). Is there a way to do this apart from the WordPress redirection feature?
Site: https://blogitwithwinnie.wordpress.com.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Yes -
Hi there!
When you say ‘redirect my followers,’ do you mean migrate the followers from your WordPress.com site to the Jetpack-connected WordPress.org site at http://www.earnwithwinnie.com? Or do you mean to redirect visitors as well (As in, if someone goes to blogitwithwinnie.wordpress.com, they will automatically be redirected to http://www.earnwithwinnie.com)?
The two are different. If you want to migrate the followers from your WordPress.com site to the WordPress.org site that you connected via Jetpack, we can do that for you.
And if you want the URL redirection (to redirect visitors from WordPress.com to your new site), you’ll need the Site Redirect upgrade.
Let us know if you have more questions.

Hi, I’ve decided to delete my old account because I don’t want to pay for the redirect upgrade. However, I’d like to unlink my new site- http://www.earnwithwinnie.com which I accidentally linked to http://www.blogitwithwinnie.wordpress.com but I can’t find the disable feature.
Can you help? -
It looks like my colleague has already replied to that here: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/unlink-blog-21/.

Thank you.
But now my site (earnwithwinnie.com) is not showing the navigation menu (stats, posts, setting, plugins, pages, etc what could be the problem?

Hi there,
I may need for you to provide more detail on the items you are no longer seeing, but based on some of what you are describing, it sounds like you are now missing the features that came with the Jetpack plugin. Those features (WordPress.com dashboard, stats, etc.) are no longer visible to you once you disconnected the plugin.
Let me know if that appeared to be the case – that they went away once you disconnected.
Thanks,

When I log in to earnwithwinnie.com I’m led to the “wp-admin”, at the left side I can only see the dashboard, profile, the logo for WordPress(.org), and collapse menu. I can’t find the navigation menu/home feature for the posts, pages, plugins, settings, etc.
This happened before I removed this linked account from my former blog on wordpress.com

Hello there,

Do you know what user role that login has for that site?
The reason why I ask is because it sounds like the role might something like Editor, or Contributor, whereby other options of the dashboard would be restricted.

Ok, this is a bit beyond what we can assist with on this end.
Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Hostgator.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
Your hosting provider’s support team may also be able to assist.
