Site registration refuses to let me move on without a custom domain?
-
Good <period of time>, all. I seem to be unable to create a site. The first two steps go fine, choosing a name and personal info. But as soon as I hit the request to give my site a custom domain and click on “no thanks”, it takes me to a completely blank page and I can go no further.
It has done this to me in Safari and Chrome, in both desktop and mobile forms. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help you can offer!

Sure thing. I’m trying to set up italicserials.wordpress.com.
It’s definitely an odd bug, that’s for sure. If there’s any more info I can provide that will help, just let me know.

This looks like a URL typo https://en.wordpress.com/typo/?subdomain=italicserials
https://italicserials.wordpress.com doesn’t exist
-
Well, correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought the “create site” button under “My Site” was specifically about, well, making that exist. And since I haven’t been able to complete the process, of course it wouldn’t currently exist.
Or am I missing something in the process?

Weird indeed! I was able to setup the site on your account. You should see it here:
https://italicserials.wordpress.com/wp-admin
Can you let me know if you can access the site?
-
Yes, it seems to work. I’ll be sure to let you know if I have any further troubles, but thank you very much for the help.
If there’s anything I can do to help figure out the source of the bug so others don’t have to deal with it, of course I’d be happy to do that as well.
