  Hello I am currently in a situation with GoDaddy where our site has been removed from yourselves due to an administration error. I will be renewing the subscription for WordPress but please could you advise as to whether our website we create with yourselves over the last 6 years has a backup that could be retrieved from the server. We are desperate as we have spent years making this site for it to have just disappeared. We are at a loss as to where to start. Thank you

  Hi there,

  Are you sure about the spelling of your domain, I checked and did not see that domain registered anywhere currently. Is it possible that the spelling is correct but the domain has been allowed to expire? I noticed that it’s available to register when I check here.

  Sadly we will not be able to help with a backup for because we don’t host hilltoptotsdaynurseryltd.co.uk on our WordPress.com managed hosting.

  To explain, we are a fully managed hosting provider and use a custom server environment that is optimized for WordPress, provides built-in security and performance improvements, as well as in-house support for your site questions.

  Because of the way we’ve optimized our service, we also use a customized version of WordPress that is different (under the hood) from what you use at GoDaddy. As a result we are not able to offer backups and historical data for sites hosted elsewhere. Of course, we would love to host your site here, where we we are happy to help further. But as it stands now, we can’t assist.

  With this in mind I recommend contacting GoDaddy for further assistance. As your host they may offer backups on their end that they are able to restore your site from.

  I can feel your stress here and offer my sympathy. Although we would not be able to help with your previous site, if you need to start over again (or are able to recover your previous site and would like to move to our hosting) we are happy to help with that. Thanks!
