  Dear support team,

  The name of the site I’d like to create is reserved – could you maybe free it?

  I’d like to get “econology.wordpress.com” if it is possible at all…

  No, that is not possible. The person who has that name may not have a blog, but that doesn’t mean the name is not in use. It could be he or she uses it to access a private blog, or jetpack for a site on WordPress.org.

  WordPress.com does not take names away from folks, nor does it recycle blog names:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  Fortunately, there is a nearly infinite supply of unused blog addresses – so our policy should not limit your address selection significantly. You can also register a custom domain for use with your blog so that the original ‘wordpress.com’ domain/URL is never visible to your readers.
