Site says cannot be reached when i try to access WP dashboard

    When i try to login to my WP dashboard, i get an error message that says my site cannot be reached. After refreshing it or giving it a minute or two, it takes me to the WP dashboard, but within five minutes the error message returns.
    This has been happening for close to three weeks now.

  • Oof, sorry to hear that! Could you send a link to the site? I don’t see any sites on this account.

    Also, these forums are for the sites hosted and managed here at WordPress.com, vs. sites using WordPress code with another host. If you’re not sure about your site, send a link, and we can point you in the right direction.

    If it is definitely hosted somewhere else, we’d recommend contacting your host first, as this is probably an issue with the domain or hosting. But there is a forum for the free WordPress software if you need more help with it:https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    I am hosted by Bluehost, however, I have two websites with Bluehost but the only one going through this problem is http://www.sitncrochet.com

    This problem came up some time back and I had to put my site through propagation to have it working again, this time the propagation isn’t working anymore.

    I asked Bluehost first but they don’t seem to know the cause of the problem.

    We can’t help directly because we don’t host sitncrochet.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we can’t take a closer look at your site.

    Instead your host (Bluehost) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform (sometimes called “WordPress.org”) which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com.

    The good news is that typically with any domain settings change (propagation), there is 24 hours or so where you will have some odd behavior, but it does clear up eventually. While we cannot help with your issue, we see this on our end as well, and it’s just a side-effect of the propagation process.

    If things don’t clear up for you in 24-48 hours, that may indicate a domain config issue. At that point, I think it makes sense to contact Bluehost to verify that all settings are correct.
