Site says expired, but shouldn’t be
-
My site disappeared yesterday… When I do whois on my domain, it says it doesn’t expire until 2022-06-29, but it says it was updated yesterday. Nobody in our organization did anything and when I search on wordpress.com for the domain, it says it recently expired. But it should not have! How can I can get the domain back up or released so I can move it somewhere else?

Hey there!
Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com but with GoDaddy hence GoDaddy support will be able to shed more light on this issue. In case you used open-source WordPress.org software to create your site then you can also look for help here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities and WordPress.com don’t have access to files or data for sites hosted elsewhere.
You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:

Thank you for your response, I’m not talking about hosting. The site was actually hosted through Siteground and the domain was registered through WordPress.com back when it was just a wordpress.com blog. Somehow the nameservers were changed and the domain isn’t showing up in our WordPress account anymore, even though I can see that the registration was paid and shouldn’t have expired until June 2022.

@padcmblog, I see you also talked with our support team via email, and they sent you the invoice to pay for the domain registration.
I have already reached out to our domain partner to get the recovery process started. They usually reply within 48h so, we’ll get back to you as soon as your domain is back on your account.
