Site showing domain error
-
Hi,
I transitioned my website from ghost/google domain to wordpress a few days ago. the transfer seems to have worked and I could launch the site from my interface. However, when I go on the website
Theprocurementor.com
or theprocurementor.wordpress.com both addresses redirect me to this page : https://error.ghost.org
with the following message :
Domain error
Failed to resolve DNS path for this hostWhat should I do ? I cannot access my ghost account apparently..
WP.com: Yes
Jetpack: No
Correct account: YesThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have followed the auto-generated help, and in the Domain>Upgrades section, the DNS status is with a green light ..
-
The website is displaying a domain error, preventing access to its content. This issue may be due to a domain registration problem or server misconfiguration. https://instaups.org/ It’s recommended to check the domain status and contact the site administrator for resolution.

After further investigation, I’m guessing the problem comes from the DNS settings/records. I can recognise the old adress from ghost in the CNAME field. I’ve tried to change it the website but doesn’t seem to work either.
Any idea how to resolve this ? -
Hi there,
Based on what I can see on our end, your domain is set to use our recommended domain name server (NS) addresses:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.comHowever, it appears that you may have also added an A record that is sending your site traffic to the following IP address: 178.128.137.126
Essentially what is happening is you are successfully sending traffic to us, but then redirecting it back out to another host. With this in mind please remove the A record shown here, and once you save your change (plus a few hours for the setting to take effect) you should see your WordPress.com site instead.
https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/theprocurementor.com/dns/theprocurementor.wpcomstaging.com
You can do that by clicking on the “…” icon to the right of the A Record listing. You may also wish to remove the ‘www’ CNAME record that is listed near the top. This is not needed on WordPress.com (we automatically redirect all www traffic to the root address) and may conflict with the ability to send traffic to your site.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Hello, thanks for the support ! I’ve completed the steps proposed above but it doesn’t seem to have resolved my problem. I now have the following message when trying to reach out my website :
Chrome : DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN
Safari : can’t find the server
Any idea how to resolve this now ?
Many thanks!

It seems that your domain got stuck with no A records.
I’ve reset your A records to the WordPress.com ones, and your domain is working again.
Hope this helps. If you need further assistance with this, don’t hesitate to let us know!

Hello, thanks for the action ! Now I’m facing another weird problem… when I go to my website, it only redirects me to the wpstaging : https://theprocurementor.wpcomstaging.com
Any idea how to stop this re-direct and finally make it work ?

Hi there,
You can set your domain as the primary one for your website, which should stop the redirect to the wpstaging site. Here’s a simple guide that will walk you through how to set your primary domain: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/set-a-primary-address/
If you encounter any issues along the way or have any other questions, feel free to get back to us. We’re here to help.
