Site so slow?

Anyone else finding that the response from your blog, both the back and front end, is slow?
I’m a former LiveJournal user and the difference in performance between LJ and my wordpress.com blog is considerable. Seem to spend an age waiting for “s.wordpress.com” according to my Firefox status bar; although everything seems to take a while.
Are there issues with the service at the moment?

Are you saying something has changed, or has WordPress always been slow for you? What browser are you using, and which version; it makes a difference.

I’m seeing slowness but, it being a holiday weekend here in the States, I know they do maintance on the routers here at the school I’m using. (Actually amazed the network is even up and running) That and I’m throwing around 100 meg “backup” files currently. *cough* *cough*
Timeouts some times happen and they happen to all sites on the net. Without knowing what you’ve got running on your box, without knowing what was occuring on your network at th etime, on which ever one of wordpress’ servers that info was coming from (they have servers at three datacenters that spread the load), it’s kind of hard to tell. I can see your IP address and I’m getting some high numbers then I do a tracert to you but even that doesn’t tell me much.
Gotta admit though that if it was happening to a lot of folks, these forums would be flooded with folks complaining.
If it happens again, can you please do a tracert to s.wordpress.com and post the result please in a txt file uploaded to your blog? Please don’t post them here but somewhere where the formatting won’t muck up.
