Site stats impossibly high

  Hi there,

  I made a relatively benign post today, but for some reason the views are loading as incredibly high, relative to what they would normally come in at. Also, the specific page stats do not add up to the total views, so I suspect something is off. Temporary glitch, or something I can fix?

  Probably neither. Sounds like you have a bog standard viral post. What is the URL? What are your referrers on your stats page today? What are the actual numbers?

  It’s certainly not viral! They’re photos from 6 months ago! The page is back-dated for July.. here it is.

  The referrers are mainly facebook (where I shared a link to the post), but for example, yesterday 292 views were from there (plus only 2 from search engines), but the total views were 419. And, it says the post was only viewed 22 times.

  But you know, I think it might be the photos themselves. Normally, I add a gallery, and I think most viewers just look at them embedded within the post, but this time, I added a note saying that if you click the photo, you’ll see them and their caption full screen. So I think more people are doing that, and now, each photo viewed is being counted as a page view. Is that a possibility?
