Site stats missing — will they be made available?
-
I posted a new post March 2 and have no site stats for March 3 — even though I had 5 “likes” on this posting! I am a new blogger so I am very interested in how readers are responding to my efforts. I have never before had 5 “likes” so I am very curious to know how many people saw the new post/page — but i don’t have any stats to tell me. Can this be fixed?

There are actually many ways to Like a post without actually visiting it, like the Reader for example, and its various tag-specific views: http://wordpress.com/#!/read/

But in all these instances, those who “liked” would have to already have been following me to do so, correct? — PS, appreciate the assist!

Nope — a reader might have stumbled upon one of your posts in browsing tags. They could then “like” one of your posts without visiting it.
Check out this tag page, for example.
You’ll notice that you can “like” a variety of posts without ever actually visiting the original posts.
