Site stats seem to be off

The site stats on my page seem to be off. For instance I had 7 likes on my post http://apoetsdream777.wordpress.com/2014/10/22/sunset-silver-lake-wautoma-wi-09122014/, however my stats have stayed stuck all day at 1 view. I know I must have had more than 1 view if I had several likes. I would like to have this be as accurate as possible as I recently changed from Google + due to viewership accuracy issues. (I do understand the site updates every few hours but even yesterday I had a post that still shows I had only 1 view even though I got several likes: http://apoetsdream777.wordpress.com/2014/10/21/me-myself-the-moon-a-poem/). Is something not set up properly that there seems to be an accuracy issue with page views for my blog? I just opened this two days ago, just want everything to go smoothly.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Our stats are not real time stats. For details see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/ and note the views and viewers take hours to update. Provided you are logged in when visiting, your own views are not recorded on any public blog you registered.

Our stats are page view stats. Please do not assume that everyone who clicks a follow, like, share, reblog or comment link actually reads the post on your blog because odds are they may not. Also note that those who follow your blog in the Reader or by email don’t have to click into the blog unless they wish to. Subscribers control how frequently they receive your posts (instantly, daily, weekly). And, they can even comment without clicking into the blog either.

Follow, like, share, reblog or comment clicks are not page views. In fact, follows, likes, shares, comments and reblogs are completely misleading when you are talking about page view stats.

Your followers and anyone with a WordPress.com/Gravatar account who is logged into WordPress.com can “follow” your blog, “like”, “share” and “reblog” your posts and “comment” in several locations such as the Reader, without ever clicking into your blog and creating a single page view stat.

Logged in visitors using a mobile can read the full post without creating a page view stat. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/wordpresscom-reader-show-full-text?replies=31#post-1373606

You can control the length of the entry sent out on your RSS feed here Dashboard > Settings > Reading. Choose the “summary” setting for your RSS feed rather than to “full text”. That will compel followers who are not using mobiles to click into the blog to read the full post which will create a page view stat.

OK thanks for the information. I changed to “summary” setting thank you. But my blog is already kind of set up like that with the style I chose… you have to click into the links in order to access the content and like/share/reblog it. So are there any other setting I should be aware of that may be skewing these numbers? I am going to do some testing/diagnostics on my own as well. I would consider upgrading in the near future if I had faith that this site stat information is fully accurate.

There is no other settings I can point to – sorry.
