Site tagline, under the title

  • Unknown's avatar

    My site tagline or title below my name is not displaying. I have entered it as I want it to read; I have saved/updated the entry and still it does not display. When I go to Customize for my Theme and select Title I have entered my name in the first field and the second field I want to read: ‘Portfolio of 2 dimensional work’ which I have entered, but it does not appear. Many thanks in advance for your help. My wife is helping me out on this so please reply to the email provided below–the email connected with my site is different.

    Hi Brian,

    Sorry for the trouble! This is sort of a quirk in the theme you’re running, called Forever.

    On the Forever theme, the site tagline only appears when the site’s front page is set to display “your latest posts.” Since your site is set to a static front page, the tagline won’t load.

    Apologies for the confusion.

    In the case of your site, one way to make the tagline “appear” would be to add the text manually into the body of your Page called “Home.” You can then use some html like this in the text editor of that page:

    <div class="homemade-tagline">
    Portfolio of 2 dimensional work
    </div>

    And style the class ‘.homemade-tagline’ using your CSS upgrade to make it appear as you wish.

    In regards to meta-data and SEO, that still loads so it’s a less of a concern.

    Let me know if this workaround helps or if you’d like me to investigate further! :)

    Best,

    -Alex G.
