Site title

    I want to customize my site title and subtitle more than what is provided in the customization tabs. The title is two words: THE EXCHANGE. I would like “THE” to be a thin and “EXCHANGE” to be bold. Also, I am attempting to change the subtitle to the same font without changing the rest of the site. Finally, I would like the subtitle time and address. Thanks for the help!

    Hi there!

    Most of this can be done with Custom CSS. See my suggestions below!

    > The title is two words: THE EXCHANGE. I would like “THE” to be a thin and “EXCHANGE” to be bold.

    For this code to work you’ll need to remove the word ‘the’ from your current site title at Settings > General.

    div#title h1 a:before {
      content: "THE";
      font-weight: lighter;
    }

    This will change your site title in search engines like Google. If you would prefer to keep your site title the same, another option would be to create the look in an image. Let me know if you’d prefer to do that and I can help you out!

    > Also, I am attempting to change the subtitle to the same font without changing the rest of the site.

    This code will change the font for the tagline:

    .wf-active .basis-tagline {
      font-family: brandon-grotesque,Arimo,"Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;
      font-style: normal;
    }

    > Finally, I would like the subtitle time and address.

    I’m not sure what you mean here. Can you explain a little about what you’d like to see happening in your subtitle?

    Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with!

    Thanks! The second set of code was golden, but the first set isn’t working. both THE and EXCHANGE still keep the same font weight. Either both thin, regular, or bold. Any thoughts?

    Hi there!

    Sorry about that. Can you try this instead:

    div#title h1 a:before {
      content: "THE ";
      font-family: "Open Sans","Helvetica Neue",Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;
      font-weight: 100;
    }

    That should make sure THE and EXCHANGE have different weights.

    If that doesn’t do what you want, I’d suggest checking out the CSS Forum. You can post what I gave you and explain what you want to see. They should be able to help with the more complicated CSS.

    Let me know if I can help with anything else!
