Did you enter a site title here > Settings > General?
Note that the site title (blog name) and blog address URL do not have to be the same. The Site title (blog name) and/or the optional Tagline can be changed on the top of this page at any time. > Settings > General

That is exactly where search engine spiders look for the site title and removing it from there can cause issues with getting your content indexed.Your theme Crisp is a premium theme and I do not have access and cannot test this on my test blog. Go to > Appearance > Header and look for this to enable it:
Header Text
__ Show header text with your image.

Thank you for your help. I have tried all of your suggestions, and all the appropriate boxes were checked, but still no title. I’m wondering if the illustration covers up the title? I have tried a smaller thumbnail, but still did not display. Mmmm – what to do?
