Site traffic tanking

Has anyone else been seeing weird drops in site activity? Mine has literally dropped 50% a day to four days and I haven’t changed anything on my end.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What kind of numbers are we talking about? For blogs averaging less than 100 hits a day, volatility like this is normal.

Well I’m not huge but it’s been a steady 200 for months and now it’s 35

That IS unusual. The only thing I can see on your site is that you’ve got two reblogs as your most recent posts, and unlike original material those are not as interesting to readers, and you are using WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many tags:

Tagged academy award winners, blu ray, Common, Dave Franco, DVD, entertainment, Hollywood Reporter, isla fisher, Jesse Eisenberg, Jon Feltheimer, Lions Gate Entertainment, Louis Leterrier, magic, Mark Ruffalo, Melanie Laurent, michael caine, Morgan Freeman, movie, movie review, movies, Now You See Me, now you see me 2, Now You See Me Blu Ray, now you see me sequel, Summit Entertainment, The Prestige, UV, Woody Harrelson

That’s too many. Bring it down to around a dozen or yes, you’ll be classified as a tag spammer and dropped off the tag pages and search engines will downgrade you.

    Gotcha, I shall de-tag!

If tagging was the issue are you permanently marked down or is it something that works itself out over time with new content properly tagged?

It will work itself out, don’t worry. Will take at least a week though.

I appreciate the help and advice. This was making me nuts lol.

One more question, sorry, I went back and brought the tags on the last week of posts under 15. Do you think I need to do my entire archive to fix things? I ask because I have over 850 posts and I’m not sure there’s enough beer in the house to tackle that?
