Site transfer

I currently use Shopify and want to transfer to WordPress. I want the transfer to be smoothe but am not sure how to go about it as I would like to build the site and then transfer the domain once its ready, how can I do so?
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hey there, no problem. You’re welcome to create your new site with us before pointing the domain here. That way your current site can stay “live” until your new one is ready.
I do recommend getting a plan earlier on if you’ll need it, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
