site unresponsive

I have been using WordPress for 4.5 years and suddenly I cannot access either of my blog sites. When I try to add a new post I get a white page with a WP logo and no further response.What has happened? Is WordPress no longer supporting MacBook 10?

I am not logged out of the site, my Avatar is still visible and another member of the group had checked that I am still an administrator of the site. I am experiencing the same problem with suzannegoldring.wordpress.com, which I started about 18 months ago. Both sites suddenly changed and look different. I used to hove over the WordPress logo on the top left corner to access admin and now this doesn’t happen. When I click on the logo I get a menu ( which looks different to the way it used to look) but when I click on add posts I get the white page with a WP logo which won’t respond further. That is why I wondering if my system is no longer supported.
I’d really appreciate your help – WordPress has been great for me and I’d like to continue using it. -

Can you tell me which web browser and version you are running? And does the issue continue if you try a different browser?
What operating system are you on? Windows or Mac?

In answer to your questions:
Safari is the default web browser for the MacBook and I’m guessing the version I’m running is the original. I tried access the site through Firefox, but couldn’t even get as far as seeing an admin bar when I tried.
I’m operating on Mac not Windows.
The link to the wp-admin you sent takes me into the site and it looks just as it had always had. It responds when I click on add new post, so I’m going to try doing just that. But should I regard this as a temporary ‘fix’ or is there something I should consider permanently?

I have just successfully posted one entry on the elsteadwritersgroup site for tonight and have one scheduled for later in the week. However, when I tried to switch sites ( as I was used to doing) to access my suzanngoldring site, I ended up with the white page.

Have you already cleared the browser cache? Here are some instructions to help you through that process:

I have now cleared the browser cache and have checked that I have Java Script and have enabled cookies, but the problem remains the same. I can continue accessing the Elstead Writers site through your link, but cannot switch sites to access the other site – I just still get the white page.

Can you send me the link to the page you are at when you try to make the site switch?
When I sign in to WordPress.com and click My Sites > Switch Site in the upper left corner of the screen I can see all 3 sites listed.

You asked me send you a link to the page I’m on when I try to make the switch to the other site. I have been able to get into the elstead site below to make posts, but I cannot access the other site.

Ok – I’ve now tried switching sites again and I’m making some progress First I get a white page with the WordPress logo, then it gives me an admin bar and I can select the other site, but when I clock on posts or the Write box at the top, it doesn’t give me anything which responds. I just get a white space with an admin bar on the left. But it’s progress of a kind….!

Is there another network you can try to post from? At work, or home, or maybe a neighbors or coffee shop? I’d like to rule out that you’re not having any connection issues.

I just ran the test and the results are:
1.52 mbps download
0.43 mbps uploadI’m not having connection issues on any other sites and this happened out of the blue in early December.

Hi Liz,
I am now operating from a different connection and although I can now view the Suzanne Goldring site after following your Elstead Writers Group link, I cannot take any action. I have clicked on add post, but there is no response on the page. So I am continuing to add posts to the Elstead Writers site but only by going through the link you sent on Jan 16.
Please advise if there is any other action I can take.

Please check which version of Safari you are using? It may need an update.
Also, please walk me through step-by-step the process you are using to work on these sites.

Here’s what you should see:
When signing in: https://cloudup.com/cTjG4yZIIzp
Then click the top item, Switch Site and you should see this: https://cloudup.com/c0u2YN4PBvx
From here you can click on each individual site to edit or add content.
When I look at the account I am able to click on all 3 sites and add new posts to all three of them by clicking Switch Site > Site Title > Blog Posts > Add
