Site URL does not match files
-
Can someone please help me with this? My url http://www.janicedickson.ca doesn’t match my files. If you click on a photo on my site, it will show my wordpress site, janelizabethd.wordpress.com.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am not seeing any evidence of what you are describing. Can you show me a specific page where you are seeing this happen?

Are you right clicking on the photo and looking at the image info? If so seeing the underlying base blog address for the photo that is normal as is seeing the base blog URL when a single photo is displayed
That is normal and how domain mapping works, if you go to the site linked to my name and look at the Round Turn & two Half Hitches Post – you will see the same behavior

Hi Josh,
Thanks for your response. I removed the links on my photos so that when you click them they aren’t directed to another page but all of the url files are janelizbethd.wordpress.com…
For instance; I added an extra photo as this post so you can see what I mean: http://janelizabethd.files.wordpress.com/2014/07/screen-shot-2014-07-16-at-10-57-11-am.png
It’s the first post on the site. Please let me know if you can come up with anything.
Thanks a lot.

Auxclass,
The difference with mine is that my domain doesn’t match my files.
My domain is janicedickson.ca while my files is janelizabethd and this hasn’t happened with my previous wordpress sites so there should be a way to fix it.

Your base blog you mapped to seems to be
The behavior I see is normal – were your previous “WordPress” sites a WordPress.ORG install on your own host and not on WordPress.COM?

That is the way that WordPress.com sites work. The actual base URL for files is your permanent WordPress.com URL. This allows the site to remain active even if your domain mapping or registration is allowed to expire.
If you used self hosted WordPress.org sites in the past, they would not have operated in this fashion.

Okay I understand-thank you.
Is it possible to change the hosting so that the files match?
