Site URL newbie mistake

Hi I just changed my site URL (in general settings) which I’m now finding out was a big mistake. I can no longer edit my site or do much of anything. Does anyone have any ideas how to change it back to the original one? or find out what the original URL was? Please help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Disregard the blog link…not sure why or how it got there. I changed my site URL to http://www.puttinginthework.com which screwed everything up. I need to find out what the original bluehost URL was set as.

  • Hi there,

Your site is not hosted with us on WordPress.com, so we’re not able to help with this.

Please see if you’re able to fix this yourself using the documentation for the open source WordPress software with which your site is built.

Else you will likely need to contact support at your hosting provider, Bluehost.com, so they can help you fix this via your hosting control panel with them.

Disregard the blog link…not sure why or how it got there.

That is listed because you connected the Jetpack plugin on your site to WordPress.com while your site was still using Bluehost’s temporary domain, and that site is set as the primary site in your account, so the forum lists it automatically.

Once you have the new domain properly connected on Bluehost’s end, disconnect and reconnect Jetpack, and the correct domain will be listed in your WordPress.com account as well.
