    site_recovery

This is a common issue after updates and usually fixable without data loss. When updating WordPress, if you get an “Unable to establish a connection” error on the backend while the frontend works, it usually means WordPress can’t connect to your database or some files didn’t update correctly. Start by clearing your browser cache or try logging in via incognito mode. Then check your database login details in the wp-config.php file to make sure they’re correct. If you have hosting control panel access, you can verify this or ask your host’s support team to help check the database server status. Also, re-upload WordPress core files (wp-admin and wp-includes folders) from a fresh WordPress download to fix incomplete updates. If plugins are causing conflicts, disable them by renaming the plugins folder via FTP or file manager.

But without FTP/cPanel this can be difficult.
