google console says can not fetch sitemap and i cant find the permalink tab under settings. it was there yesterday but now it is gone. i changed to custom permalink and i want to change it back to posts but i cant ind the tab to go to customise permalink. the tab is gone. google console cant fetch my file untill i sort this out. pleASE GUIDE ME ON WHAT DO DO BECAUSE in the add sitemap on the left it shows my web address then an edit box in the middle but when i type my address from http it says it is invalid. then i remove http:// and then it proccesses but says cant fetch file. so how do i fix this?how do i find the permalink tab if it is not in settings? when i click on the permalink in tools marketing then trafic it takes me to the home page no issue, but in google console when you press go to sitemap at the top then it brings you to my home page with a 404 error. i remeber changing the structure to custom so maybe i i change it back to posts then maybe the permalink will be fixed….but i cant find the permalink button in dashboard and settings, its vanished. please can you help me sort this permalink issue out? spent hours now trying to add my sitemap to google console but i am stuck with this issue now.
The site I need help with is softwaregallore.wordpress.com.

Where it says add sitemap… It says http://softwaregallore.wordpress.com/
After the / do I put my sitemap URL? To me it looks like I must enter a permalink of a post inside my website. Els if I put my website sitemap URL it will look like
http://softwaregallore.wordpress.com/softwaregallore.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml
So maybe I’m trying to enter my sitemap and my site URL together.
Is that space after the / meant for a permalink of a page inside my website? Or please guide me on how to submit a sitemap into Google console because I can’t find the permalink tab in settings -
Hi there,
The link to your sitemap is this one: https://softwaregallore.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml
If Google Search Console already shows the address https://softwaregallore.wordpress.com – all you need to add there is
sitemap.xmlso that it becomes https://softwaregallore.wordpress.com/sitemap.xmlIf you enter https://softwaregallore.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml again, then it becomes http://softwaregallore.wordpress.com/softwaregallore.wordpress.com/sitemap.xml which is incorrect.
Hope that helps.
