Sitemap.xml not updated

  Hi,

  I have a free wordpress.com plan for my site. Jetpack plugin is installed, and by what I understand it is the jetpack that is generating the sitemap.xml.
  I have no other plugins installed since it is a free plan.

  I have made several changes on the pages, and the published date on pages has been therefore changed. But the sitemap is not being updated. I even made some changes few days ago to test whether the sitemap will be updated.

  But still no changes – the last modified date in the sitemap file has stayed the same – the beginning of May. It is very critical since google will not reindex my new content thinking that nothing has changed (based on outdated sitemap.xml).

  I asked on the Jetpack forum, but they said I should ask here because it is the wordpress.com site. Can you please help?

  Hi there,

  To be clear, is this in regards to https://psiholoskosavjetovanjemilenaraceta.wordpress.com/? Or do you have a site connected via Jetpack? I ask because most of the features that Jetpack provides are already integrated into all WordPress.com sites. Technically, plugins cannot be installed on free sites.

  This is definitely more of an issue for Jetpack sites, so let me know if this the WordPress.com site above is the one that is having Sitemap issues. WordPress.com automatically sends updates to search engines every time you update or delete a page or post.

  Yes, it is the wordpress.com site – https://psiholoskosavjetovanjemilenaraceta.wordpress.com/ that was the site in question.

  I don’t know if you did something, or was some bug resolved, but now the sitemap is being updated as it should.
  After few days, I noticed that the update I did was being integrated into the sitemap.xml. And I did some changes today, and they were also reflected. But for a month or so the sitemap.xml was not being regenerated with my every update.

  So, everything works now as it should be.

  I think we can mark this as resolved. Thank you for assistance, and if you did something to make the sitemap.xml generation work again for my site! :)

  Hi there,

  We didn’t make any adjustments on our end. Sitemaps are being generated almost instantly as you described. If you experience this again in the future let us know so we can have a look.
