  What is a sitemap?
  How to make it for my blog http://indiauploads.wordpress.com ?
  How to submit it then to various search-engines?
  How to periodically ping these afterwards?

  Can all this be done by a layperson like me?Please help.

  It is already done automatically for you by WP.com using Pingomatic. You do not have to do anything.
