“SiteMeter” – It was only a matter of time I guess!

  A quick mention that it now appears that sitemeter has sold off the tagged email address that they have on record for me. I’m now getting third party spam to that email address. The address only exists within their email database.

  I don’t know about SiteMeter — I never used them. I’ve always used StatCounter. the only thing I don’t like is that I have to use the html instead of the javascript here, which I understand why and I don’t disagree, but I do like knowing which referrers lead readers to which posts. I also like the email report options from StatCounter.

  For the record, I have never gotten an unwanted email from StatCounter or had my email sold by them (that I know of).

  So THAT’S why I’ve been getting spam at that address. I was wondering how it got out. The bastards.
