SiteMeter/Active Meter – Better Option

Hi All,
Can any one suggest me which is the counter is best to use and track the users. also their ip addresses, country.Is it Site Meter or Active Meter.

Why not install both and see what they give you? I’m not sure you can get IP addresses on a WP.com blog, since you can’t install the full versions of the counters, but Site Meter will give you the country easily.

If you leave both of them up for a few weeks, what you will find is that the two of them may at times differ wildly and at other times be almost the same. That was my experience.

I personally have loved Site Meter but the downside is the public can click the icon and see the details. But, you can change it so it won’t show on your site but you will get a e-mail weekly with details about blog stats.

The free version of most of these counters are very limited if you have high-traffic blog (if you average 2K page views per day than you’d find the free version very limited). Personally I don’t like to show counter image.
BTW, does anyone know why WordPress does not provide visitor’s location (city/country) in its stats? This is the only info I find missing and relevant, otherwise the native stat is more than enough.

No idea; only staff can tell you. I know they get a MUCH fuller set of information than we do, because they’re running Google analytics on our blogs.
