Sites no longer part of my account–host notified us of malware/hack
-
We were notified by our host that they detected malware on some plugins for our sites (wolfpackauthors and bookboyfriendbureau). We also got an email from WordPress with a recovery dashboard link HOWEVER we didn’t see it before the link expired and I’m not sure if they’ll send another one.
We’ve changed all the passwords on the hosting platform, but the site urls get an “error establishing database connection” error and won’t load. When I log in to WordPress those sites aren’t part of my account any longer.Any advice?
Thanks!

Hi there!
We’ve changed all the passwords on the hosting platform, but the site urls get an “error establishing database connection” error and won’t load. When I log in to WordPress those sites aren’t part of my account any longer.
Thank you for reaching out! Would you be able to share the urls of the sites you are referring to? It sounds like these sites may be hosted elsewhere instead of WordPress.com, in which case you would need to contact the hosting provider for assistance.
If they are indeed hosted with WordPress.com, please share a transaction ID in the account recovery form (do not share it in this public forum post) and we’ll be able to help you recover access to the correct account and assist with the issue.

That would be correct, this likely came from your host.
wolfpackauthors.com itself appears to be hosted by ‘Dreamhost’ so I would suggest contacting them for further information.wolfpackauthors.com is not hosted on WordPress.com.
Regarding ‘bookboyfriendbureau’, if you can provide the full domain name, I can also check this for you.
