Site's Style and Banner Images not Displayed Properly after Importing XML FIle

I was able to install the WordPress software on our local server and import the XML generated file. When generating the XML file I selected “All Content” and then clicked the button labeled “Download Export File.” The import on my local server went fine without any reported problems. However, when I loaded the webpage on my local server, the banner images and other page styles were not brought over from the original site hosted on the WP servers. I checked the local machine and the banner image is there in a sub dir (wp-content/images/…), but not actively displayed in our pages. Is there any other settings I need to enable in the dashboard in order to bring the site’s look and feel over to our local server verbatim besides selecting the “All Content” option under “Export”?

    Thanks,

    Gary

A WordPress.com export file will only contain your posts, pages, comments, categories, and tags. When you run the import tool there is a checkbox for “download and import file attachments” If you check that then any attached images will be downloaded directly from WordPress.com and imported into your media library.

Any theme customizations will need to be recreated on your new site as there’s no way to transfer that to a new site.

    I hope that clarifies things!
