Size limit on photos?

    I’m thinking of building a free WordPress site for my wife. She currently has a paid-for site, but it is so very-low traffic that I think the price is not worth it. (Heck, the registrar costs more than the hosting.) Her near 60 images (painting: artwork) would occupy nowhere near the limit imposed by a WordPress free plan. However, is there a limit on the size of individual images? (Currently all full-size camera shots.)

    Hi there,

    I think we have a file size limit of around 2GB for an individual file upload. There’s no way you’ll ever have an image file that size :)

    That said, we strongly recommend you optimize your images for the web prior to uploading them. It uses less storage, helps your site to load faster, and makes it harder for content-thieves to steal the images, as it won’t be a hi-res image they can easily re-use for other purposes:
