Size of hyperlinked text suddenly larger
-
Yes I always use the visual editor.
Sorry I forgot to mention that I use Windows. The Ctrl+letter shortcuts work but the Alt+Shift+letter ones do not, even in the new editor. I tried inserting an image using the shortcut but it doesn’t work.
Thanks for the information. I will have to use the new editor then!

Hi!
Thanks for clarifying. I gave the additional Alt + Shift + Letter keys a try on my side, and they seem to be working. I am on a Mac however so this could be Windows-specific. Just to be sure, have you tried this out on another browser? I’d just like to see if for some reason it’s also browser-related.

Hi,
I tried on Firefox and they are working and strangely enough they are now working on Chrome too!
I have another question. In my latest post (the one you helped me with), the caption under the 6th image is the same font size as the rest of my post. All the other image caption fonts are smaller in size. How can I rectify this?
For future posts, can I change the font, size, and justification of the image captions? (I do not know coding though).
Thanks

There are two ways to change the font size on image captions. The first way involves using custom CSS, which applies styling globally to all comments across your site. I’m happy to help you with the CSS code, but you would need the Custom Design upgrade shown here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
The second approach is to style them all individually when you insert a picture. This does require a bit of code, but I’m happy to help you get it sorted out. The downside to this method is that it’s tedious since you have to adjust each comment individually. Plus, once you do this method, you can’t change the font size in comments using CSS (individual styling wins out over CSS). Does that make sense?
If you would like to do the second option (individual styling), you’ll want to use the following attribute around the comment:
<p style="font-size:30px;">Comment here</p>Here’s the whole image code with the text above:
[caption id="attachment_578" align="alignnone" width="400"]<a href="https://lifescienceexplore.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/heliamphora_collage_1.jpg"><img class="wp-image-578" src="https://lifescienceexplore.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/heliamphora_collage_1.jpg?w=300" alt="Heliamphora_collage_1" width="400" height="227" /></a><p style="font-size:30px;">Heliamophora plants: H. chimentensis in Venezuela at 1900–2100m; H. pulchella in Venezuela at 1850–2550m; H. nutans in Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela at 2000–2700m Photo Credits: Andreas Eils, Denis Barthel, CC</p>[/caption]To use this method, you’ll want to flip over to the Text Editor:
Then, find your caption and wrap the caption text in the code mentioned above. The “30px” portion can be edited to achieve the size you’re looking for.
Can you give that a try?

Thanks for your reply. The photo caption I need to change is this one:
<dl id=”attachment_608″ class=”wp-caption alignnone” style=”width: 390px;”><dt class=”wp-caption-dt”><img class=”wp-image-608″ src=”https://lifescienceexplore.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/yellow-jacket.jpg?w=300″ alt=”Yellow Jacket trying to reach for the nectaries inside the mouth Photo Credit: ” width=”380″ height=”253″ /></dt><dd class=”wp-caption-dd”>Yellow Jacket trying to reach for the nectaries inside the mouth
Photo Credit: <span style=”color: #0000ff;”>Yuejin Hua and Hongqi Li</span></dd></dl>I will try using that attribute around the comment. I want to make the font size the same as that of other photo captions in my post. But I cannot see the font size (like font size: 30px) in the text editor for the other captions so that I can use the same one.
For now I need to fix that particular caption font size.
But I will consider trying to change the settings using the first method you mentioned, if its not too complicated for me that is.
If I do, does this change the caption font size for all previously published posts or for all subsequent ones?

Hi!
So, if you want to change the following comment to the normal comment font, you’ll need to make some changes to the comment/image code:
<dl id="attachment_608" class="wp-caption alignnone" style="width: 390px;"><dt class="wp-caption-dt"><img class="wp-image-608" src="https://lifescienceexplore.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/yellow-jacket.jpg?w=300" alt="Yellow Jacket trying to reach for the nectaries inside the mouth Photo Credit: " width="380" height="253" /></dt><dd class="wp-caption-dd">Yellow Jacket trying to reach for the nectaries inside the mouth Photo Credit: <span style="color: #0000ff;">Yuejin Hua and Hongqi Li</span></dd></dl>I’m not sure where those “dd” and “dl” tags are coming from. Did you by chance copy and paste the content from elsewhere? Replacing the above code with the following should create the same image with a regular caption font:
[caption id="attachment_608" align="alignnone" width="380"]<img class="wp-image-608" src="https://lifescienceexplore.files.wordpress.com/2014/10/yellow-jacket.jpg?w=300" alt="Yellow Jacket trying to reach for the nectaries inside the mouth Photo Credit: " width="380" height="253" /> Yellow Jacket trying to reach for the nectaries inside the mouth<br />Photo Credit: <span style="color: #0000ff;"><span style="color: #0000ff;">Yuejin Hua and Hongqi Li</span></span>[/caption]Can you give that a try?
But I will consider trying to change the settings using the first method you mentioned, if its not too complicated for me that is.
If I do, does this change the caption font size for all previously published posts or for all subsequent ones?If you purchase the Custom Design upgrade and decide to change the caption font size via CSS (I can help with that), it will change all captions across your entire blog. It’s not permanent though; you can remove the increase by either changing the CSS or removing it altogether.
