Size of image changes automatically when uploaded

    Recently, when uploading images to my website, the size of the image is automatically changed. I have a custom Manifest theme with the width set to 900px in the CSS. The images were fine and were all showing at 900px but when I went to my site recently, the last eight images were 500px. Has anyone else had this problem and what can I do to fix it?
