Size of the photos! – This bothers be a lot.

Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Kevin Burridge and I am having issues that I am hoping you could help me with.
The theme I am using: Independent Publisher 2

Issues/Problems:
1. The size of the pictures are way too big! When I was editing the post, the picture aline to the comments below/above it. However, when I published the post and view it on laptop the pictures are just way too big in comparison to the comments!!! – PLEASE HELP AS I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS.
2. The size of the cover photo (Facebook term used here) is just way too big. Is there a way to customize this?
If you could go in an amend these picture sizes and setting for me I would be most grateful. You have my permission to do so.
