sizing images with new dashboard

This is likely related to all of the other problems uploading, but I haven’t seen anything exactly like it. When I upload photos, the image uploads to the gallery, but from there, there is a lot of inconsistency. One out of the fifty or so times I have tried to upload an image, I was given the full array of choices about my image: its title, link, alignment, and size. All 49 other times I am not given a chance to select the size of the image (thumbnail, full size). If the image successfully makes it to the post, it is always a thumbnail. I tried uploading to Picasa and linking directly to the photo. Again, no choice about the size. If it successfully makes it to the post (big if, here) the image will be a thumbnail. I have glimpsed how things should appear one time. Since then, no luck. I have tried using Safari and Firefox. I am bummed. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

Instead of going through gallery, go through media library and when you go to insert, all the settings will be there for you.

Thanks for the tip. My bad to let that slip. You have been very helpful, to me, and, as I have noticed on the forum, to countless others others as well. Your efforts are appreciated.

If you are linking to files stored elsewhere, use the “tree” icon on the toolbar and bypass the wordpress media stuff. Click on the tree, put the URL of the image into the URL link field, and insert it. Then you can resize the image by clicking on it to highlight, and then dragging a corner handle (corner handle maintains proportions).
