Sketch: featured content slideshow
-
Hi,
I’m using the Sketch theme with a premium plan (no CSS files creation or alteration possible, only custom CSS), but I can’t find any way nor any sample code to customize the CSS for making the content slider an automatic slideshow.
I’ve used successfully this code for removing the date:
#featured-slides slideshow.entry-date.published { display: none; }Is there a list of parameters for #featured-slides, so I can customize it?
Thanks in advance

In Sketch, the Post Slider at the top of the main posts page is set to manual rather than automatic and there is no way to change that with CSS. That would require editing of the theme php/javascript files, and we cannot edit those at WordPress.com.
As far as other customizations on the slideshow, if you can give me some idea of what you would like to do, then we can see if we can accomplish those. There really isn’t a list of customizations for the post slider.

Oh!, that’s what I suspected.
I’m trying to make an automatic slider for the front page, but it seems to be that there are two solutions: 1. The rough one: Making a slideshow gallery in the front page without a featured image. 2. The hopeful one: Change of theme that actually has the option of an automatic slider that doesn’t redirect to posts, but actual pages (I dream of an Edin with an automatic slider).
Regarding the customization, I’ve found a list of the default settings for flexislide, and there are indeed a few ones that actually work, not so much, but it’s something.
Thank you, thesacredpath.

For the record, sliders that auto-advance are quite negative for both usability and accessibility, so they’re not recommended. :)
If you need help with anything else non-CSS-related — such as choosing a new theme or setting up a slideshow — feel free to post again in the Themes forum:

That’s quite an advice, thanks!
I’ve been helping some friends to build this site (the actual owners), and that’s what they want, but I’ll try to persuade them to refrain of such slidy desires.
