sketch portfolio page featured image & slider

    hi

    if you went to this page on my site: http://toottutus.wordpress.com/our-products/

    you will see the following problems ;

    1. a blank box with the title “our products” – when i upload a featured image for the page it displays there but i don’t want a featured image so when i remove it – it looks like that and i cant get the block to go away.

    2. when i scroll the slider, the first slide looks as mentioned above but the second & third one, the slides move up and leave a gaping empty space below.

    just want it to look like the theme preview!!!!!

    Hi Toots,
    I can see the gap, Im on a Mac using firefox and chrome…and to me it looks like the banner/carousel slider layers are not laying on top of each other…I’m not a programmer but I think it is probably some issue with the CSS positioning…maybe is a bug.

    To be honest, I am trying to set up a new blog with this template, and I can not figure out how to add this type of banner/carousel that you have….I would love to try and see if mine would get the same bug.

    But hopefully one of WordPress engineers can chime in and help us figure this one out.

    i managed to sort out the bug :)

    first of all, to get the slider etc to work as in the example, load all the work/ items/ posts you would like featured on the slider as projects in the portfolio section. remember to set a featured image for each of them.

    then, create a new page, leave it blank – no writing & uncheck the social sharing abilities. to the right, where you can select whether a page has a parent there is the option to change the page type – select “portfolio page”. DO NOT add a featured image for the page & DO NOT add any tags (my original mistake). publish this page. if you view it it should look like the example.

    to make this page your home page, go to the theme “customize” section, go to “front page”, check “static page” and then choose the page you created above.

    Hey tootkids

    I did exactly that, per their instructions and your and still nothing. I can see the featured projects on the home page, but not the slider gallery and I really don’t understand why. I’ve been at it for the past 6 hours and I can honestly say I’ve never worked with a more idiotic theme. Seems easy peasy in the beginning but it’s driving me mad.

    The site is Blue Dream Atelier.

    Any ideas as to why it would not be creating the slide gallery? I’ve uploaded feature images in both 800x 600 and t47 x 300, for landscape feature images and posts feature images. The two link featured are both up as project. I am completely confused.
